CHL4 has a clam-like groove to accommodate the surface of IML3.

As seen in the video, the hydrophilic (or polar) amino acids align with hydrophilic amino acids on the opposing interface. This is also true for the hydrophophobic residues.

Interestingly, the majority of hydrophobic amino acid residues are hidden in the core of the interface and are surrounded by hydrophilic residues.
