A journey into CHL4 (Cenp-N)* of the CCAN complex

Structure of the S. cerevisiae CCAN complex (reproduced according to Yan et al., 2019).

Errors in chromosome segregation lead to aneuploidy. Kinetochores aid in maintaining genome stability by connecting the centromeres to the microtubules. It is this vital connection that facilitates chromosome segregation.

In this exhibit, we will take a close look at subunit CHL4 (Cenp-N) of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae inner kinetochore Constitutive Centromere-Associated Network (CCAN) complex.

* Subunits referred to their protein name as expressed in S. cerevisae, with general names given in brackets.
