Nature of the Interface
In the inner kinetochore CCAN complex Cenp-H, Cenp-K, Cenp-L and Cenp-P, i.e. subunit MCM16, MCM22, IML3 and CTF19 respectively, each shares an interface with CTF3 (Cenp-I). Each interface has a distinct buried surface area (BSA), hydrophobic residues, interactions and so on. In this session, the nature of each interface will be presented.
CTF3 and its four interacting chains. Each subunit has been labeled in its corresponding color. The brown arrow is pointing at the interface between CTF3 and CTF19.
This table illustrates the surface area and Buried Surface Area (BSA) of the CCAN-CENP-A complex and the four interfaces. The MCM16 and MCM22 interface is relatively larger than the other two interface.
