IML3 interacts with CHL4 and CTF3

The interface of CHL4 has a Y-shaped conformation that complements IML3, while part of IML3 forms an elongated projection that fits within the indentation of CHL4.

In the case of the interaction between IML3 and CTF3, the bulging part on the opposite side of IML3 interface matches the concave side of CTF3.

The shape complementarity and chemical properties of the interfaces contribute to the interactions of these subunits.

IML3-CHL4 Interface

In the interface, subunit IML3 has 13 hydrophobic residues and 22 hydrophilic residues, while CHL4 has 18 hydrophobic residues and 22 hydrophilic residues.

IML3-CTF3 Interface

In the interface, subunit IML3 has 11 hydrophobic residues and 10 hydrophilic residues, while CTF3 has 5 hydrophobic residues and 11 hydrophilic residues.
